We are an inclusive, secular, SATB (mixed-voice) community choir for singers age 16 and up.
Everyone is welcome! No previous choir experience is necessary.
We memorize all our music in order to have a deeper, more impactful connection with our audience.
If you can't read music, that's okay!
Part-specific rehearsal recordings are provided to all singers to assist in learning and memorizing the music.
We rehearse Wednesday evenings, 6:30pm - 8:30pm, at a church in Albuquerque's northeast heights.
We have 2 concerts in Albuquerque per year, one in January and one in June or July. (Subject to change.)
We sing songs of peace, kindness, connection, equality, unity, social justice, and the environment.
Our repertoire consists of a wide variety of music. From accompanied to a cappella, we draw from the musical genres of world, folk, contemporary, pop, Broadway, and jazz. Foreign languages are often part of the fun!
Performance attire is "concert black" (dressy black tops and bottoms, black hosiery, black shoes) accented with silver and turquoise jewelry (necklaces, earrings, bolo ties). Jewelry can be purchased through the choir or can be your own that blends with our style. (Jewelry does not need to be "real" silver and/or turquoise.)
Singer dues is $30/month. Full or partial scholarships are available if dues are a burden. No one will be turned away because of an inability to pay dues.
While not required, we encourage singers to become involved in the operational aspects of the choir. These can range from short-term committee tasks to serving on the Board of Directors. It takes a village for an organization like ours to thrive, and we rely on the diverse skills, talents, and interests of our singers to help whenever possible.
